Service Description

An intensive 6-week Capstone Program of structured lessons and comprehensive academic review designed to provide a formal, certified specialization in the historical narratives and heritage of Moorish Americans. Students engage in independent-scholarly-research, evaluate primary and secondary sources, and utilize critical inquiry to synthesize historical, cultural, and legal literacy into a comprehensive academic project, the Capstone. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based reasoning, intellectual integrity, effective communication, and the responsible interpretation of historical and cultural materials. Students demonstrate mastery through guided and open discussion, analytical writing, presentations, and applied scholarship. By completing the Capstone experience, students demonstrate readiness to apply interdisciplinary knowledge, conduct scholarly inquiry, and contribute thoughtfully to academic, legal, and civic discussions and community work concerning History, culture, and identity. Successful completion signifies a high level of academic achievement and represents the culmination of the Moorish American Institute’s program of study. Graduates are styled “Specialists.”
